Allow us to introduce you to a crooner that you may already recognize. He’s best known for his role as Michael Lee on HBO’s The Wire and currently stars on the CW drama 90210 as Dixon Wilson. True fans know him as Tristan Wilds, but today he reveals his R&B persona Mack Wilds (based on his middle name).

The 24-year-old comes bearing visual for a track titled “Own It,” shot at the Stapleton houses in his Staten Island, NYC stomping grounds. Viewers will hear a clear Hip-Hop influence and a recognizable drum break from Rakim’s classic “Eric B is President” in the song’s boop back sonics.

The smooth tune plays as Mack and his band of brothers ride around the neighborhood tagging spots with graffiti, only to be thwarted by police and a rival artist who continuously defaces their work.

Fans can catch the actor-turned-singer on BET’s 106th & Park tonight, July 31, during the cut’s television premiere. In the mean time, check out “Own It” below.
