A rapper’s first live concert has to be an endearing feeling, but the sweet feeling of victory had to be especially sweet for Your Old Droog. Last night, the Brooklyn rapper quieted all conspiracy theorists once and for all as he took the stage at New York City’s Webster Hall.

“Nowadays, a wooly mammoth pop up, it’s a big deal. A cat like me popped up 20 years ago, it was no big deal,” Droog said, citing the decline in the quality of Hip-Hop music. “Now it’s so much trash [that] some dope sh*t come out, it’s like it can’t be dope on its own. Somebody else did it.”

Droog is not Nas, but that doesn’t matter. Fans watched as he masterfully rhymed tracks from his self-titled EP with a barber’s preciseness.

Peep footage from Droog’s show below and on the following page. As a bonus there’s also some footage of the New Yorker freestyling.
