Might as well be high when Trump takes office, right? The DC Cannabis Coalition plans on passing out free joints during the Presidential Inauguration on January 20.
The mere thought of having Donald Trump as the next President of the United States has a lot of people looking for an escape. So, the DC Cannabis Coalition is moving on an idea to help people with that by giving out free weed at the inauguration.

You are cordially invited to join DCMJ for the inaugural #Trump420 taking place on January 20, 2017 in Washington, DC!
We will gather on the west side of Dupont Circle at 8am for coffee & tea and parade down to the National Mall at 10am. Along the way we’ll hand out 4,200 joints of legally grown cannabis! At 4 minutes and 20 seconds into President Trump’s speech we’ll light up! (unless President Trump comes out now in support of full cannabis legalization in all 50 States and DC!)
We legalized cannabis in Washington, DC and we are not going to let anyone take that away from us! This is an outreach opportunity to show President Trump’s supporters we are the marijuana majority! Join us for smokin’ fun time!
Now, before you start planning your road trip, here are some things you should know. Yes, weed was recently legalized in the nation’s capital. However, buying and selling it is still illegal, which is why they are giving it away for free. However, the laws are very strict as to where you can smoke it. Public consumption is still illegal, meaning that this big smoke out will be getting some visits from the police if they smell it in the air.
You can legally walk around with the weed up to a certain amount without being harassed by police. If you are caught with more than two ounces, you will be getting arrested.
Driving while high is illegal and so it smoking it if you are under 21 years old. Here’s a rundown of what is cool and not cool if you plan on taking part in this event.
