Michael K. Williams says that he just landed a role of a lifetime, playing jazz icon Miles Davis in a new biopic about his life.

Williams dropped the news in an interview with London radio personality Mr. Exposed. Williams was in town shooting his scenes for upcoming Star Wars flick that is also featuring Donald Glover. The interview covered topics ranging from his days of visiting London in the 1990s as a backup dancer to his appreciation for London’s Grime music scene. But at around the 30-minute mark he starts to talk about some of the roles he has in the works. One of them being a starring role in a Miles Davis biopic.

Williams didn’t drop any details, but he did say that it was “definitely in the works” and hopes to start production in 2018.

Williams will be following behind Don Cheadle who played Davis in the 2015 film Miles Ahead. Cheadle directed the film himself, but it received lukewarm reactions due to it mostly being fictional and not a proper biopic.
