In not so wavy news from the Max B home front, the Harlem rapper was denied his last ditch appeal and must spend at least the next 30 years in prison, as reported by RapDose. He will not be eligible for parole until November 9, 2042.

Max, born Charlie Wingate, has been in a New Jersey prison since 2009 after he was convicted for his role in a 2006 robbery-homicide where David Taylor was killed. Wingate, who denies his involvement in the incident, was convicted of nine of 11 counts of conspiracy, murder and robbery charges and given a 75-year-sentence. Authorities allege Max sent his ex-girlfriend and stepbrother to rob two men at a New Jersey Holiday Inn. During the robbery, Taylor was shot execution style, and later died.

The former Jim Jones associate, who came into prominence after penning the chorus for Jones’ ‘06 hit “We Fly High (Ballin’),” filed the appeal last year and was hopeful that he would be exonerated of all charges. He released his first studio album, Vigilante Season last March on Amalgam Digital. Recorded before he went in, the majority of the album was produced by Dame Grease.
