Queen Latifah is showing her support for the gay community community. The Hip-Hop mogul will headline the Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival in Long Beach, Calif., May 19. The performance will mark her first engagement at a LGBT event anywhere around the globe. “From Hip-Hop to R&B, Pop to standards, Queen Latifah is the voice of our generation and her concert here will be phenomenal,” noted Long Beach Pride Festival co-President Pat Crosby in a statement on the organization’s website.

“For her to make her worldwide Pride debut here in Long Beach is a tremendous testament to the popularity of our celebration and the strength of our community.”  Although she has never publicly addressed inquiries into her sexual preference, the 42-year-old’s support of the festival may stand as an unofficial coming out party.

The Queen is just one of the many attractions at the two-day event which will feature panel discussions, workshops, plus other performances from the likes of Evelyn “Champagne” King, and The Village People.

Aside from leaving an impressive music legacy, the New Jersey native has transitioned into an to accomplished actress, and business woman, seamlessly. Among her other ventures include starring in and producing a Steel Magnolia’s remake, to air on Lifetime, and judging a forthcoming singing competition show, The Star Next Door.
