Can’t really say this wasn’t expected. Before he has to report to prison on September 12th, Beanie Sigel will be releasing a new album titled This Time. The new album will be arriving through RuffHouse Records, via EMI, on August 18th. The album’s first single, called “The Reunion,” is supposed to hit radio next week, which means it should be on the Internets before the weekend is up.

The recently revamped Ruffhouse is the label that brought the Hip-Hop world acts like The Fugees and Cypress Hill, selling over 100 million records worldswide. Its founder and CEO Chris Schwartz issued the following statement:

“Regardless of this unfortunate situation, Beanie has created a tremendous body of work that is totally worthy of the Ruffhouse name. It’s almost ironic that the sentencing is happening on the eve of this record, because this record is about introspection and redemption. Beanie is truly one of the great lyricists in the hip-hop game. He stands tall among all the major MCs and he’s revered by all hip-hop aficionados around the world.”

The Broad Street Bully will be serving a two year sentence for tax evasion. The “Remember Them Days” rapper owes the IRS over $700,000 in unpaid taxes. For his family’s sake, let’s hope he gets early parole.
