Wale’s 2011 sophomore release, “Ambition”, recently received a Gold certification for selling over 500,000+ albums within the last year. It’s been safe to say the DC native has experienced a major turnaround in personal fortune since aligning his brand with hip hop heavyweight (no pun) Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group.

The former Allido/Interscope artist maintained his poetic approach to the game while creating “Ambition”, providing us with records such as “Lotus Flower Bomb”, “Ambition”, ”Legendary”, and “That Way” (originally on “Self Made”) en route to this accomplishment. The certification has now set a standard for label mates Meek Mill, French Montana, Stalley, and even Gunplay to match or surpass. Round of applause goes to Rick Ross for displaying his A&R talents throughout Wale’s resurgence. “Ambition” is in stores now.
