Grammy Award-winning rapper/producer Kanye West has always had a flair for the dramatic – from media outbursts to his outsized music video projects and more. It appears that the enigmatic Chicago native was also feeling a bit charitable as well last Friday (Aug. 3) after hobnobbing with some of Hollywood and the modeling world’s elite.  While hanging out at New York nightclub PH-D Rooftop Lounge at Dream Downtown, Yeezy unleashed some new cuts from the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album Cruel Summer, much to the delight (and shock) of partygoers in attendance, reports the New York Post.

West was chopping it up with actor Leonardo DiCaprio, The Hangover director Todd Phillips, and model Erin Heatherton before he hit the booth at PH-D where DJ Reach was spinning. Armed with a laptop, West gave an impromptu sneak preview of unreleased tunes to stunned fans inside the club, reportedly lip-synching and dancing along to his songs.

According to an insider at the club reporting on behalf of the Post, Kanye’s act left many speechless. “The room looked stunned. People were standing around with jaws literally dropped,” said the spy.

Based on a report from ABC News, a song tentatively titled “My Perfect B**ch” which some allege was about his curvy girlfriend Kim Kardashian. West continued his set for 45 minutes, concluding with the previously released single “Way Too Cold” to cap off the evening.

Cruel Summer is set for a September 4 release.
