Blu is one of the MC’s that Hip-Hop purists praise to anyone who will listen, yet mainstream recognition sadly eludes the rapper. The Cali rhyme wunderkind is dropping a project with Inland Empire producer Bombay and the first officially sanctioned “leak” is this joint called “Rap Dope.” The title holds true with Blu dropping sick quotables; “My rap like, bring a ni–a back like AZ/Life is a b-tch that never raised me,” spits over a hypnotic groove fitted with sharp drums.

Blu is about to drop an official version of Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Themwhich leaked late last year, on September 4th and linked up with streetwear brand Stussy for limited edition tees emblazoned with artwork from the project.

No info on when Blu and Bombay’s project will drop, but listen to and download “Rap Dope” after the break.
