Election Day is next week, but Rudy Giuliani wants the president to throw in the towel now.

The former New York mayor blasted President Obama’s decision to go back out on the campaign trail after Hurricane Sandy destroyed many areas on the East Coast.

Before the storm made landfall in New Jersey, both the president and Mitt Romney temporarily suspended campaign efforts. Following the destruction, Obama traveled to New Jersey to survey that damage, and declared disaster areas in New York and New Jersey to expedite federal aid.

He returned to the campaign trail later in the week, and Giuliani is livid over the decision, which was the last straw for him. “He should resign!” the former mayor told Romney supporters at a rally for the Republican nominee in Ohio.He told us he would resign if he did this poorly! Do you remember that?”

“He lied! He has been a disaster. The worst president for our economy in our lifetime. He doesn’t want a second term. He wants a second chance, because he screwed it up the first time.”

According to Giuliani, the president failed to show accurate leadership in handling the storm, despite receiving praise from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.”Maybe the first couple of days he was keeping his eye on the ball. But we‘ve got gas lines that are a mile long, we’ve got bodies still being discovered and we’ve got a president playing campaigner-in-chief.”

After ending his tenure as mayor, Giuliani, ran for president on the Republican ticket, while his daughter, Caroline, was an Obama supporter. He later dropped out of the race.
