Snoop Dogg has somehow mastered the art of relevancy in a game where artists are here today and gone tomorrow. Now moving under the moniker Snoop Lion, the legendary MC remains at forefront of Pop culture and new technology due to a recently inked deal with RCA Records for his newly established production company, Berhane Sound System.
Reincarnated, a reggae and dancehall influenced album executive produced by Diplo and the Major Lazer production team, will be the first project to release through the RCA partnership. The album is slated for a Spring 2013 release in conjunction with VICE Music and Mad Decent.
The recording process of Reincarnated the album was documented in Jamaica, and will be released to the public in a film of the same name. The highly-anticipated VICE Films/Snoopadelic Films documentary, Reincarnated, chronicles Snoop Dogg’s spiritual journey to Snoop Lion that grew from his recent trip to the island, where the California MC cites Jamaican people and culture as positive influences.
Snoop Lion recently released a new track from his highly anticipated album, titled “Here Comes The King.” More information regarding Reincarnated will be released at a later date. See a recent press statement courtesy of Snoop below.
