Rihanna is as known for her music as she is for her style, and the singer is set to join the search for the next big fashion star via the reality competition Styled to Rock.

The Bajan superstar will executive produce and star in the show, centered around a dozen fashion designers all vying to win the title of the next big fashion star.

“Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career,” Rihanna said in a statement sent to Hip-Hop Wired. “I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work.”

The “Pour It Up” singer is inviting “ innovative” contestants that she feels “represent the future of fashion,” to sign up to compete on the show via the website StyleNetwork.com/StyledtoRock.

Styled to Rock is a collaboration between the singer and Style Media, the company behind the Style Network. “Rihanna is a trailblazer, a trendsetter and the epitome of style. She has a powerful and unique point-of-view that transcends every aspect of pop culture, including fashion, and is a leading creative force,” noted Style Media president, Salaam Coleman. “On the heels of our successful network rebrand, Styled to Rock and Style’s new partnership with Rihanna will reinvent the fashion competition genre, fueling our viewers insatiable appetite for all things style.”

The series launched its nationwide search Wednesday (Dec. 5),  in hopes of finding designers on the cutting-edge, who are looking to elevate their talents, and push the boundaries of their artistry.  Each week contestants will be tested via different competitions to include styling an A-list star. Each week’s celebrity guest will determine the challenge winner, narrowing down the search until one designer is chosen as the Style to Rock victor.

Alongside Rihanna, Styled to Rock will also be produced by reality programming giant Shed Media, the company behind Basketball Wives, The Real Housewives of  New York City, and other successful shows.
