Rapper Tru Life Gets 8 Years In Prison For NYC Attack
Former Roc La Familia artist Tru Life pleaded guilty to gang assault for the 2009 fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Christopher Guerrero.
Robert Rosado, which is Tru’s government name, and his brother Marcus Rosado were sentenced to eight and ten years respectively.
The family of the victim is not in agreement with the jail time.
“We will never be able to erase the image of him trying to fight off his attackers with his bare hands while daggers were thrust upon him,” Guerrero’s brother, Jason Ramirez said during sentencing in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Ramirez commented that there are drug dealers that receive more time in prison than his brother’s murderers.
Tru Life’s eight-year bid is due to the fact that his brother actually did the stabbing.
The 34-year-old rapper’s lawyer, Alan Abramson released a statement that read, “Robert is extremely saddened by what happened.”
