French Montana was the next rapper up to bat on Life + Times: DECODEDIn this episode, the Moroccan MC from the Bronx breaks down his star-making verse on the hit song, “Stay Schemin” off of Rick Ross’ Rich Forever mixtape.

The most entertaining part of this video, which was filmed in Daddy’s House studios on Midtown Manhattan, was his explanation of the word “fanute.” Even though the word has since taken on a life of it’s own since this song blew up, he confirms in this video that he didn’t exactly say that word.

In his opening bar, it was assumed that he says “Fanute the Coupe to the Ghost, dog,” but he was really saying “from the hoopty coupe, to the Ghost, dog.” Fascinating stuff.
