Fact, Ab-Soul’s Control System album, that dropped way back in March 2012, is one of the year’s better projects. The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper is keeping it moving and blesses us with a new song called “Only 1.”

The Carson, California native weaves his dense metaphors and double entendres throughout the Willie B of Digi-Phonics produced (mixed by Ali) track’s swelling synth and rumbling drums.”I seek an instrumental with attempts to leave it bleeding/You a menstrual cycle with flower petals to a Harley/Rap genius so decode it for me, homie,” spits Ab-Soul.

Ab-Soul once adamantly told Hip-Hop Wired that there will never be a Black Hippy album. “No, never, ever!” he said. “Fa real, seriously.” We don’t believe him, though. And, Kendrick Lamar pretty much confirmed it is in the works, TDE is just tired of people asking about it all the time.

Regardless, Ab-Soul will be dropping a new project, a collaboration with singer JMSN, sometime in 2013. Until then, listen to and download “Only 1” below.
