Last night, Hip-Hop fans’ prayers were answered, in a way, courtesy of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The talk show was the locale for infamous Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man to connect with The Roots for an epic performance of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) track “Protect Ya Neck.”

Black Thought played the wingman during the performance, covering Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, GZA, and Raekwon’s verses. Johnny Blaze represented the remaining members of the Wu, including a spirited rendition of ODB’s energetic verse.

Don’t let the magical moment between the MCs defer you from the greatness that is the legendary Roots crew band, who did the RZA’s original production much justice. We can only imagine how the great the performance would have been had each member of the Wu-Tang Clan attended.

Fans will have the opportunity to see the entire Wu-Tang Clan at this year’s Bonaroo Music & Arts Festival taking place June 13-16 in Manchester, Tennessee. In the mean time, fans will have to settle for last night’s performance, which can be seen below.
