While the exact circumstances of Chris Kelly‘s death remain uncertain, the late rapper’s funeral services have been set. The “Mac Daddy” half of Kris Kross will be buried this Thursday, May 9 in Atlanta.
Fans will get a chance to pay their respects at the Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta, which will hold a public viewing for Kelly throughout the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, May 8. Thursday funeral service will be held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
Reportedly, Kelly mother found him unconscious and unresponsive around 3 p.m. at his Atlanta home on May 1. She called 911 for assistance but Kelly was pronounced dead at Atlanta Medical Center around 5 p.m. According to his mother, Kelly had recently taken a mixture of heron and coke. Although an autopsy has been completed, results of the toxicology report are not yet ready.
Condolences from Kelly’s rapping peers has been great, with Lauryn Hill mentioning the rapper in a note that accompanied the release of her new single, “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix).”
Kelly was just 34 years old.
