Kid Ink recently unveiled a visual for “Bossin Up,” which appeared on his 2012 mixtape Rocketshipshawty. The treatment looked to be six months too late, but we find out today that the release was a minor move that set up the Los Angeles native perfectly to drop the remix.
The beat and a majority of the rhymes from Ink are the same from the original, but this time verses from French Montana and fellow RCA signee A$AP Ferg make the cipher complete.
The two New York rappers take the gaudy talk that defined the song to astronomical levels the second go around. “Your BM don’t even know me/ She all on my wang, Alexander Wang,” rapped Fergenstein. Not to be outdone, the “Bad A$$” spitter tagged a few more affluent rhymes to the end of the track.
This updated version of “Bossin Up” will appear on Ink’s forthcoming Almost Home EP, due out May 28. Press play below to preview what to expect from the project.
