Since her The Boombox Diaries Vol. 1 mixtape hit the Internets, fans have been waiting for Nitty Scott, MC to release a visual for her Kendrick Lamar-assisted jam “Flower Child.”

Operating as an independent artist is no easy feat; in turn, the Brooklyn MC used Kickstarter to help fund the track’s treatment. The money was put to good use by director Anthony Sylvester, who used Scott’s native King’s County borough as the locale. Scenes have a nostalgic feel that match the song’s boom-bap production and takes viewers on a sublime journey.

Unfortunately, the Compton rapper doesn’t appear in the video. Fret not though fans. Scott spits her rhymes and looks damned good while doing it.

Don’t believe us? We suggest that you check out the “Flower Child” vid for yourself below. Also be sure to check out Scott’s The Boombox Diaries Vol. 1. Give us your thoughts in the comments.
