It’s Friday, you’re off your job, and you frankly don’t have ish to do. Why not lend an ear to some of the best music to drop over the past seven days? For your listening pleasure, we present another installment of The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired’s Top 10 Songs Of The Week.

This time around, we placed a bit more emphasis on artists you may not have heard of. A few of said MCs hail from the west coast, while others represent the southern regions. The one common denominator between the two is their ability to grace tracks with dazzling lyricism.

On the other hand, we received some jiggy tune’s from some of rap’s current superstars too.

Check out the 10 of the best tunes you’ll hear today after the jump.

Ab-Soul – “Christopher DRONEr”

The Black Lip Bastard orders the public to remain aware of what the government is doing. He also rapped damn good to boot.

Nipsey Hussle – “Change Nothing”

Neighborhood Nipsey has been on a roll with the releases. Street savvy lines dominate this track.

A$ton Matthews ft. Vince Staples – “Plottin” (Prod. by Evidence)

Two rising MCs connected over production by Evidence. The bars are beyond potent.

Homeboy Sandman – “All That I Hold Dear Out Now”

Queens, NY should be proud of Homeboy for his consistency alone. He can add another notch to his belt with this one.

Nickelus F – “Watermelon & Chicken”

The Virginia native has been circulating the rap game for years. He’s also collaborated with stars like Drake numerous times. Tracks like this are why.

Rapsody ft. Nipsey Hussle, Ab-Soul & Terrace Martin – “Never Know” (Prod. By 9th Wonder)

Rapsody consistently holds her own on tracks with an all male line up. Please don’t sleep on her. She’ll rap you out of house and home.

Stalley ft. ScHoolBoy Q – “NineteenEighty7”

The bearded rapper connects with TDE’s next up over a beat by Terrace Martin. We indeed have time for that.

Future – “Honest”

This chorus is very similar to what Future Vandross laid on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.,” but the track jams nonetheless.

Earl Sweatshirt ft. Vince Staples  “Burgundy” (Prod. By Pharrell)

The Odd Future rapper has been performing this cut for some time, but listeners didn’t get the full experience until he liberated the CDQ version.

Drake ft. Majid Jordan – “Hold On We’re Going Home”

Slander if you want. You — yes, you — will break out a two-step and a spin to this song at one time or another.
