New York Knicks combo guard Iman Shumpert has been making a name for himself on both the hardwood and the recording booth. Recently announced to appear on Michelle Obama‘s Hip-Hop and fitness album, the flat-top rocking hoops star dropped a verse over the Migos smash hit, “Versace.”
Rapping under the name 2wo 1ne, Shump may be vying for the title of best rapping NBA basketball player of all time. The Illinois native rides the track comfortably while adding his own manner of braggadocio. He even slides in a shout out to Adidas on the track, along with some sharp ad-libs thrown in for good measure.
“And I told y’all, I told y’all that I’m chosen/And my work ethic too potent/And ff you don’t believe that I’m a stunt on this league, let me hit whatever you smokin’/Let’s race whatever you drivin’, if you hate I’m deletin’ your comments/Trust me baby, I’m grindin’,” raps Shumpert.
The third-year player released a mixtape last December, and previously dropped the track, “Knicks Anthem” in a shout-out to his squad. Shumpert also mentions co-captain Carmelo Anthony on the song too.
