Rappers have come out the wood works in response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse. Following a Twitter rant that included a few bars mimicking some big name rappers, Lupe Fiasco unleashed “SLR 2” at a fan’s request as his contribution to the conversation.

To be frank, Lu’s bars are mean and vicious. He maintains multiple flows, though some are lazy at times, in a lengthy barrage of lyrics.

The Food & Liquor rapper’s feelings are encompassed in one line: “Now we all heard what he said, but what he said means we dead/And that sh*t is insane/He’s so crazy, look at the little baby/N***a you ain’t Nas, n***a you ain’t Jay-Z/You will respect me, you will reject me/But I’ve done so much, no matter how far you go, you will reflect me.”

Loaded lines like this have defined the talented lyricist’s career, and he left fans wondering why he doesn’t deliver material more often. In any case, catch an audible blessing via “SLR 2” below.

Did Lupe Fiasco kill it better than the TDE rapper? Let us know in the comments.
