This is what we’ve all been waiting for. Just a few months before a noteworthy year in music culminates at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, the public receives the highly anticipated list of nominees.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Robin Thicke and T.I., Katy Perry, Lorde, Miguel and more performed at The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night, a concert held in Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre that preceded the announcement. Following, came the big news.

Jay Z takes the cake this just after his 44th birthday with nine nominations, including “Album of the Year” for Magna Carta…Holy Grail. Kendrick Lamar tied with Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for seven nomination. Drake and Daft Punk are last up with five potential.
