Most agree that Pusha T dropped a gem in his solo debut, My Name Is My Name, but he’s already on to the next. Last night, one half of the Clipse revealed plans to begin recording his next album, King Push, at the top of the new year.

With Hot 97’s Miss Info hosting, Pusha shook things up at an Apple Store in New York City with one highly anticipated statement. “January 2nd, me, Chad and Pharrell are going into the studio for 20 days [in Miami]. That’s what is going to start off the King Push album,” said the G.O.O.D. Music lyricist.

This will set the tone for the veteran’s next solo endeavor. Speaking of which, he says, “I’m not relying on anything else but my fans… my family, that’s it.”

Pusha doesn’t have a timeline for his next LP, but he did manage to reunite The Neptunes; that’s a sign of good things to come. Hear him speak below.
