Last night, some of Hip-Hop’s elite from both the past and present performed at the Def Jam 30th anniversary concert at SXSW in Austin, Tex. There, a packed crowd at Stubbs BBQ (many of whom we assume were inebriated) enjoyed a classic rap moment to kick off the music portion of the week long festival.

Performers included 2 Chainz (though he left the stage early), Pusha T, YG, and Gunplay, but it was veteran MCs Method Man and Redman who shut down the house with energetic renditions of hits like “Da Rockwilder.” Trickled in the crowd were a list of notable faces that are affiliated with the label, including founder Russell Simmons, Jay Z, Kanye West, Rick Ross, and more.
