Pharoahe Monch has gotten his Enlightenment back this year, coming off the heels of his incredibly strong album, PTSD: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. With the LP pressed up, packaged and in stores, the uncanny wordsmith still has verses to spare so he linked up with Coalmine Records to properly represent for Record Store Day this past weekend.

M-Phazes is a first generation branch of the DJ Premier family tree and he gives Brother Monch a colorful bed of sound, complete with a pulsating bass line and DJ Revolution’s scratch work to wreck much havoc. Mixing M.O.P. with Quincy Jones’ “Lost Man,” Monch conveys his purpose with lyrics like “Go on ice grill/act mean–sleep/These lyrics are laced with caffeine, peep/How the game is diseased and poisoned/But please understand that Pharoahe is the vaccine…”

And to make the deal that much sweeter for the audiophiles, this particular MP3 was actually pulled from the limited edition 7″ vinyl single record.

Fans can get their neckbraces ready and stream the track below. Hit the next page to see the full tracklist for Coalmine Records upcoming compilation Unearthed, due in stores May 13, 2014.
