Run-DMC set the precedent for rapper and brand partnerships via a deal with adidas nearly three decades ago. In 2014, their rapport with the three stripes remains strong, and today, we have a pair of adidas Originals Ultrastar 80s to show for it.
Coined the “Bluebird,” these kicks are a take of the classic Superstar silhouette that Run, DMC, and Jam Master Jay rocked faithfully. A blue suede upper is treated with snakeskin on the stripes and trimming on the tongue. The “shell toe” and sole are white. Proper adidas branding on the heel and Run-DMC’s logo on the tongue make the cypher complete.
