Thursdays belong to Raekwon if old school grooves are your thing. For his seventh #TBT release, the veteran wordsmith shines on a track titled “Flawless.”
Listeners will be confused at first, because the sounds of Willie Hutch’s “I Choose You” from The Mack soundtrack, but the soundscape quickly gets smoother. The Chef throws lyrical darts over Luther Vandross’ 1988 fan-favorite “For You To Love.” Those familiar with the record know that it’s as smooth as Raekwon’s vocals.
A hilarious clip from Antonio Fargas’ “Fly Guy” character from I’m Gonna Git You Sucka makes the cypher complete.
