With Busta Rhymes’ deflection from Cash Money Records, all eyes on Mystikal as the next O.G. who may be jumping ship.

While out at the 2014 BMI R&B & Hip-Hop Awards for a subsequent performance with the night’s top honoree Ludacris, the New Orleans lyricist explained his current situation with the house Birdman built.

“It’s nothing but respect between the label and myself–and they’ve done a lot of good things for me,” the man born Michael Tyler openly admits. “Even if we go no further from here, it’s all good. It still allows me to be involved in events [like the BMI Awards].”

Mystikal signed to Cash Money in 2011 but has yet to release an album like many who also associate with the label. He told Hip-Hop Wired that there have been plenty of creative difference that have prevented such a feat from taking place. Regardless, he still says how Busta Rhymes calls him on the phone and went on to give his two cents on the turmoil in Ferguson that has everyone glued to the television screen.

Check out Mystikal’s latest session in the video player above. The man is still right ‘chea, whether he’s signed or not.
