The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are so popular that they’re now on back order. This is nothing like the time the iPhone 5 was so ultra amazing that Apple Maps sent everyone to all the wrong places, so don’t compare the two.

Consumers will just have to fight urge to lash out and exercise patience, because Apple has it very hard right now. The company is trying to fill 4 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders, all of which came the day the new gadgets were unveiled.

From Apple’s website:

Apple today announced a record number of first day pre-orders of iPhone® 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the biggest advancements in iPhone history, with over four million in the first 24 hours. Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, says pre-sales broke a huge record.  “iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,” Cook said. “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”

Anyone feeling super lucky and/or brave, can head down to an Apple store this Friday (Sept. 19) and (try) to buy an iPhone 6 in person.
