The idea of releasing the Nike MAG, a shoe inspired by Marty McFly’s futuristic kicks from the classic ’80s film Back To The Future II, was pretty dope, but the steep price tag and exclusivity stopped most from acquiring. But that changes today, sort of, as Universal Studios announced that a Halloween Costume replica pair will be available for $100.
Yes, you read that right. Though totally devoid of any Nike branding or the self-lacing straps, this more financially feasible version of the sneaker does light up and also dons a USB port. If nothing else, the shoe should allow longtime fans of the film franchise to channel their inner McFly.
Halloween Costumes has your pair today if the idea of the price attached to the upcoming Nike MAG with working power laces makes your stomach turn. Hit the jump to see flicks of the $100 sneaker and how it compares to the ones Nike created.
