Alfonso Ribeiro has been killing it on the current season of Dancing with the Stars with an impressive variety of routines. But the veteran actor had been saving his ace in the hole for the perfect moment and yesterday (Oct. 7), Ribeiro humbly took it back to his Fresh Prince of Bel Air roots and did the beloved Carlton dance.

As he was joined by professional partner Witney Carson, their snappy number was immediately made official when Tom Jones eternal hit, “It’s Not Unusual” began to play. The record was the theme song when it came to his Fresh Prince character to remove the stick from his arse and enjoy life as the everyday man. And the jolt of nostalgia earned the pair a perfect 40 out of 40.

Although his tenure on the forever popular hit show has still made him recognizable decades after its end, Ribeiro revealed to ABC producers that there is a downside to his immortal fame.

“It stunted my career as an actor because I was pigeonholed as an actor based on that character,” he admits. “There were years when casting directors wouldn’t call me in because they felt like, ‘Oh, he’s Carlton and he’s not right with this role.’ That was the struggle.”

While he still has plenty of years on the acting ahead of him, his blast into the past is worth cherishing. Watch the video below.
