Afte the success of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, connected figures like Jerry Heller and Suge Knight have resurfaced in the news over allegedly historical missteps made in the film. However, an older interview featuring the group’s former manager in Heller speaks to an interesting allegation that Knight may have injected Eazy-E with the HIV virus.

It has been over 20 years since the passing of Eric “Eazy-E” Wright from complications related to the AIDS, but a 2003 interview with Jimmy Kimmel featuring Knight resurfaced earlier this month. In the clip, Knight makes a tasteless joke of injecting HIV-tainted blood in someone to kill them in the awkward exchange with Kimmel. Now, a 2013 interview with Heller calls attention to Knight’s Eazy-E quip and begs some examination.

As reported by Uproxx:

Now a newly surfaced 2013 interview from N.W.A.’s manager, Jerry Heller, reveals his thoughts about what Suge allegedly did to Eazy. Speaking to The Murder Master Music Show, Heller discussed the oft-mentioned conspiracy theory that Suge injected Eazy with HIV. In doing so, Heller referenced the Jimmy Kimmel Live! episode where Suge, fresh out of prison, said this:

“If you shoot somebody you go to jail forever … So they got this new thing out … they get blood from somebody with AIDs and then they shoot you with it. So that’s a slow death, an Eazy-E thing, ya know what I’m saying?”

Heller expresses his disbelief: “If he was murdered, if he was injected, why haven’t they solved that?” This resurfaced interview dovetails with the words of Eazy-E’s other son, Yung Eazy, who recently discussed the injection theory on Instagram. Yung posted a video clip of Suge’s Kimmel appearance and points out how Eazy did not fall ill “until after the studio incident with [S]uge and look how he acknowledged & admits on this interview.”
