The surveillance footage of former pro tennis player James Blake being assaulted and wrongfully detained by NYPD has been released.
The video pretty much confirms what we already know; Blake was minding his business outside of his hotel when a plainclothes cop rolled up and manhandled him.
This particular cop, James Frascatore, has a track record of civilian complaints, yet it took this clip, and Blake being a high profile Black man, for the officer to actually be assigned to administrative duty.
Both the commissioner and the mayor of New York City have apologized to Blake.
