FOX’s hit drama Empire continues to astound audiences with its entertaining audacity. Last night’s episode, titled “Without A County” was subdued compared to the raucous first episode of the season but was still stacked with foolery.

Since their hostile takeover scheme was a fail, Cookie, Hakeem and Andre are starting their own label.

Struggle Rapper 101

Hakeem wants to develop artists, even though his own album is on Empire Records’ shelf. This does allow him to audition THOTs for a girl group, and himself. Obviously.

Officer Luda

Lucious started spitting bars, so of course CO Ludacris aka Officer McKnight had to hate. Turns out he’s in league with the prosecutor who wants Lucious to take a plea deal.

Also, Petey Pablo cameo, again!

Bubbles, Esq.

Despite rocking a cheap suit, Bubble from The Wire convinces Lucious he’s just the lawyer he needs. That includes hooking up a recording session in the bing. The song is called “Snitch B*tch,” and it’s going to be a smash.

Bubble, Esq. also saw to making sure CO Luda caught the most proper of fades.

Why Is She Here?

Cookie doesn’t f*ck with Boo Boo Kitty aka Anika. At all.

Album “Leak”

Jamal and Lucious want Hakeem back at Empire Records. However, Hakeem said F that and leaked his album to the Internets. Empire has the antics of your common struggle rapper down to a T. Hakeem also didn’t care about the fact that he can be sued into oblivion.

Also, despite Hakeek having negative negotiation skills, Cookie manages to get Tiana over to their side.

Daddy Issues

Andre had enough of the struggle and begged Lucious for forgiveness. Wasn’t happening. Cold.

Their father dad time in the visiting room also led to a flashback—Kelly Rowland cameo.

A Dynasty Like No Other

The studio Team Cookie is using as HQ is a dump. But, she found a loft space that inspires her new label’s name, Dynasty.

Who Got The Bail Money?

The episode concluded with Lucious’ bail hearing. Turns out photos of a judge getting his S&M on will get you bail.

Next episode, Lucious is out of jail, and there will be a reckoning.
