While Bobby Shmurda‘s legal woes continue on, members of the GS9 street gang that the rapper is allegedly aligned with have been convicted of murder. Two men from the GS9 street gang were convicted of the 2013 slaying of a rival gang member in Brooklyn.

Radio.com reports:

A jury has convicted Rashid Derissant and Alex Crandon for the February 2013 murder of a 19-year-old rival gang member in Brooklyn.

The two defendants were found guilty on charges of Conspiracy in the Second and Fourth Degrees, Murder in the Second Degree, multiple counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Assault in the First and Second Degrees, Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, and Criminal Use of a Firearm in the First Degree, per the press release.

Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan wrote via a statement that the incident was a “cold-blooded murder” that involved “wild gunplay” and an overall disregard for safety.

Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, is still awaiting trial for his arrest for conspiracy, drugs and weapons charges from December 2014. It has not been reported if the ruling will have any effect on Shmurda’s case.
