May 26 is going to go down as one of the strangest days in Hip-Hop. While Gucci Mane was set free, Troy Ave was arrested today (May 26) in New York City hospital for his involvement in a shooting at T.I. concert last night that left his own bodyguard dead.

(function(d, s, id) {

if (d.getElementById(id)) return;

var js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;

js.src = ‘//cdn4.wibbitz.com/static.js’;

d.getElementsByTagName(‘body’)[0].appendChild(js);

}(document, ‘script’, ‘wibbitz-static-embed’));

According to sources, the cops have pinned Troy Ave as the shooter.

Reports the New York Daily News:

An up and coming rapper from Brooklyn with a beef was charged Thursday with opening fire backstage at Irving Plaza during a T.I. concert, killing one and wounding two others — and himself, police sources said.

Troy Ave, of Crown Heights, was charged with reckless endangerment and illegal weapons possession, according to sources.

Troy, who was to perform at the show, had a beef with Maino, who had just left the stage when at least five shots rang out, sources said.

However, Maino issued a statement today vehemently denying that he or his camp was in any sort of feud with Troy Ave. As for Troy being the trigger man, cops say they have footage of the “Your Style” rapper licking off shots.

This story is developing.

UPDATE:

NYPD has released a video of a man shooting inside of the Irving Plaza. Police are waiting for ballistics test before they add attempted murder to Troy Ave’s charges.
