Jaden and Willow Smith are among some of the many celebrities joining the Dakota Access Pipeline protests in North Dakota. The pair were counted among the many protesters in the state this month, with the younger of the Smith siblings continuing to show support for the growing movement against the building of a pipeline in the region.

Using the hashtag #NODAPL, Willow has been far more active than her older brother in mentioning her support of the movement although Jaden was alongside his sister for the protests last week.

Willow has posted images on her Instagram account that support much of the Dakota Access Pipeline protest, which is a $3.7 billion project aimed at moving 470,000 barrels of crude oil per day through four states and sensitive nature environments.

The Standing Rock Sioux Indian tribe has been most vocal about not having the project disrupt their reservation. While the tribe and its supporters from around the world are unified in their efforts to call attention to the dangers of the pipeline, there are a small few in the region that look at the protesters as a nuisance.

Several people were arrested, including Divergent lead actress Shailene Woodley, who claimed by way of a recent Fox News story that police allegedly arrested her based on her fame while others were let go.

Below and on the following pages are some images from Willow Smith’s Instagram from the protests. Salute to those young folks using their voices for change.
