The Holiday Season is prime time shopping season in general, but especially for sneaker heads. Nike Basketball is dropping special Christmas colorways of the Kobe 8 System, LeBron X and Zoom KD V, signature kicks of Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Kevin Durant, respectively.
The colorways of these shoes are eye-catching, to say the least. The Kobe 8 System’s look is inspired by the rhinoceros snake, whose scales are red and yellow and in the case of the shoe make it to look like a Christmas tree ornament. The LeBron X is inspired by a red diamond (on the upper) and sun-washed green on the outsole and other hits throughout the sneaker. The KD V’s digital themed look is a homage by 8-bit video game graphics since he remembers getting a video game system (Sega Genesis?) one Christmas.
While Kobe, LeBron and KD will be rocking their kicks on the court Christmas Day, if all goes to plan. Kobe’s Lakers play the Knicks at 3pm EST while Durant’s OKC Thunder face off against LeBron’s Miami Heat at 5:30 EST. However, these sneakers won’t be available for you to cop, at select retailers, until January 26th.
