Lupe Fiasco graced the stage of Late Night With Conan O’Brien for an intimate performance of his Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. cut “Battle Scars.” Backed by a live band, the prolific rapper was joined by singer Guy Sebastian, who croons the track’s captivating chorus.

Lupe’s recent antics, like his awful Grammy ensemble and Inauguration fiasco, make it easy to forget why fans fell in love with his artistry in the first place. This performance will serve as a happy reminder, and can be attributed to the duo’s passionate rendition.

Like what you hear? That and more can be heard on Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 available here. Fiasco’s follow up, originally titled Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 2, has been scrapped to much dismay.

Grammy Sunday, the Chicago MC returned to Twitter with a beacon of light, announcing that fans will see another album from him in 2013, tentatively titled Tetsuo & Youth.
