Eddie Murphy’s Coming To America is a classic; this not debatable. Clothing brand UNDRCRWN pays homage to the film with a “Team Zamunda” capsule collections that features hoodies and tees.
If you are confused, Zamunda is the fictional African nation that Murphy’s character, Prince Akeem Joffer and his sidekick Semmi (Arsenio Hall), hailed from. It’s been almost 25 years since Coming To America hit theaters and thanks to re-runs on cable television the movie is still a Pop culture monster. Many still get this urge to yell “S-xual chocolate!” during a performance or randomly telling someone “You didn’t know Martin Luther the king.”
In UNDRCRWN’s lookbook for the Spring 2013 gear, they returned to the streets of Queens where the iconic film was set. The collection features images like caricatures of Murphy and Hall’s characters rocking satin Starter jackets, logos of McDowells (the fast food spot from the flick), the famous “That Boy Good” quote and more.
The new collection from UNDRCRWN will be available exclusively at www.SHOPUNDRCRWN.com. Check out photos from the lookbook in the gallery.
