Many of you scoffed at Papoose when he announced the official release date for his long delayed debut project Nacirema Dream, but the quality of some of the Brooklyn rapper’s latest offerings may give him the last laugh. His most recent track is “Cure,” a very introspective song featuring Erykah Badu.

On the cut, Papoose takes a page from Nas’s “I Gave You Power,” but on his version he provides preventive measures while spitting from the perspective of deadly diseases like cancer and HIV/AIDS. “I enter you body with only one assumed mission/ That’s only to break down your immune system,” raps Papoose.

We won’t give away any more, but just know that the “Alphabetical Slaughter” lyricist had good reason to be tight lipped about this record.

Nacirema Dream drops tomorrow, March 26, and will dons previous releases like the Remy Ma-assisted “What’s My Name.” Jim Jones, Jadakiss, DJ Premier, and Mobb Deep are among the other artists that contributed to the project. If you like what you’ve heard thus far, purchase the album here.
