Mark this day, April 29, 2013, since on it we receive a new DOOM record. “Bookfiend” is the name of the song and it is produced by New Jersey’s own Clams Casino.

You should know DOOM, formerly MF DOOM, and still all caps when you spell the name. “Answer to the riddle, more hidden than a crook, the only way they find it if it’s spittin’ in a hook, look,” is how the man once known as KMD’s Zev Love X sets this one off. The atmospheric production finds the revered rapper kicking a slow flow, still thick with double meanings and tongue in cheek references that naturally come from being well read.

You may be familiar with Clams Casino as a frequent collaborator with A$AP Rocky, hooking up ambient productions like “Wassup” and “LVL” for the Harlem rapper.

Word is DOOM and Clams will be collaborating more, and this is a very nice start. Also, we’d love to get that DOOM and Ghostface Killah project any day now, please.

Listen to “Bookfiend” below.
