Pharrell Williams returns to the Internets bearing feel good music, and that’s alway appreciated. Before you get too excited, this isn’t any indication of a forthcoming solo album. Instead, Skateboard P reconnects with composer Heitor Pereira to create “Happy” – the first offering from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.

After the success of the 2010 animated comedy, it only made sense for the duo to recapture the magic they crafted on the first soundtrack. As expected, Williams assumes crooning duties on a lighthearted track about reveling in moments of genuine happiness.

“Hear comes bad news talking this and that/ Well, give me all you got and don’t hold it back/ But I should probably warn you, I’ll be just fine,” sings Williams before asking listeners to clap along.

All in all, “Happy” is a jam your entire family can enjoy. Expect this cut and a bevy of others produced by Williams and Pereira to appear throughout Despicable Me 2, due in theaters July 3. The soundtrack will be available for pre-order June 11, with its official release slated for June 18.
