On June 20, Lil Snupe was shot and killed in an apartment complex in the town of Winnield, La. A local resident with a rap sheet that includes drug charges, forcible r@pe, second-degree kidnapping and battery with a dangerous weapon has been identified as a suspect in the 18-year-old rapper’s murder.
The Shreveport Times reports that authorities have ID’d 36-year-old Tony D. Holden as Snupe’s killer. Holden has been charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Warrants have been issued for each of the aforementioned charges.
Holden remains at large—he stands 5′ 8″, weighs around 215 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes—and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Reportedly, Holden and Snupe, born Addarren Ross, were having an argument in the apartment that spilled outside. Snupe, who signed a record deal with Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers label last year, was shot twice in the torso and declared dead at the scene by the coroner.
The cause of the argument that led to the promising rapper’s demise? A bet on a video game.
“We are told they were betting on a video game,” Winnfield police Lt. Charles Curry told the Shreveport Times. “Supposedly he (Holden) robbed him (Ross) of money.”
So an 18-year-old kid lost his life for beating a grown man at a video game? No words.
