Dwyane Wade‘s ex-wife,  Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, is a thorn in the three time NBA champions side. The Miami Heat guard’s former college sweetheart is suing him for access to his endorsement money, to help pay her mortgage.

The Associated Press reports:

A years-long bitter legal battle between NBA star Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife is heating up again.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Siohvaughn Funches-Wade filed a lawsuit Tuesday alleging that Wade is violating the terms of an agreement that requires his endorsement deals be fully deposited into a joint account they both control.

Wade’s attorney, James Pritikin, says the lawsuit has no merit and expects it to be dismissed. He says it mischaracterizes the court order concerning the joint account, but wouldn’t elaborate.

The lawsuit is the latest chapter in a bitter custody and divorce battle that played out for years between Funches-Wade and Wade, a Chicago-area native who plays for the Miami Heat.

In 2011, Wade was awarded sole custody of his and Funches-Wade’s two sons.

Per the Chicago Tribune, the lawsuit was filed in Cook County Circuit Court last week and Funches-Wade claims she is owed at least $1 million. According to the suit, Wade and his financial advisers have schemed to deprive his ex-wife of money she is owed via their divorce settlement and she has thus been unable to pay her mortgage as well as home and car insurance.

Dwyane Wade’s current girlfriend is actress Gabrielle Union.
