You may have scrounged up your face after reading the date in the title, and that’s totally justifiable. Don’t judge us, though. Instead, apply the famous phrase “better late than never” to this tardy edition of The Wrap Up: Hip-Hip Wired’s Top 10 Songs Of The Week.
Hopefully you enjoy hearing new and fairly unknown MCs as much as we do, because a lot a fresh artists appear in this selection. A few bubbling west coast talents showed and proved with a list of notable tracks. Other quality drops came from a few notable rhymers from the Big Apple. We even received some vicious bars over boom-bap production from a MMG affiliate.
Yeah, we’d say last week was fine and dandy.
Again, we apologize for being a few days off schedule. Hopefully this collection a music will make up for that. Expect the next installment of The Wrap Up during its normal time Friday, August 2.

Buddy – “Them Draws”
Pharrell’s Compton protege has been taking a slow and steady approach to building a buzz. If he continues dropping tunes like this, that should change in no time.
Terrace Martin ft. Robert Glasper & James Fauntleroy – “No Wrong, No Right”
The musicality alone on this jam was enough to earn it a spot on this list.
Nipsey Hussle – “Summertime In That Cutlass”
Yes, Neigborhood Nip has been a regular on these lists, and he will be as long as he remains consistent.
Stalley – “A-Wax”
It’s clear that the MMG affiliate is improving as an MC. We’re interested in hearing more from the bearded wordsmith.
Ransom – “Man Alone”
This song is for the folks seeking brutally honest rhymes, if nothing else.
Black Milk – “The Kraft (Rough Draft)”
The Detroit producer-rapper didn’t kick any bars here, but the music was ill enough to place it among the ranks of last week’s better records.
Rapsody ft. Mac Miller & Jared Evan – “Generation”
The Jamla rapper and her Macadellic brethren both have cult fan bases, but are criminally slept on by the masses. Press play and learn something, people.
Shawn Chrystopher ft. Dom Kennedy & Ashly Breshe – “Situation”
The Timbaland-affiliate keeps it Cali fresh on this release. How can you be mad at that?
Action Bronson ft. Big Body Bes – “Water Sports”
We challenge you to name five rappers that have been more consistent than Bronsolino in 2013; our thoughts exactly.
Childish Gambino – “Centipede”
Mr. Glover has a great track on his hands with this emotional cut. He even sings.
