It’s been fairly quiet for Ab-Soul over the past few months. Aside from a few guest appearances, fans haven’t received much new music from the west coast rapper, but that changes today with a track called “Christopher DRONEr.”

The title is a play on Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD police officer and United States Navy Reserve officer who went on a killing rampage earlier this year after being fired from the force for what he said were racist reasons. The Black Lipped Bastard actually voiced his support for Dorner prior to his passing.

Soulo, known to be TDE’s most eccentric and socially conscious MC, challenges listeners not to be mindless drones on the Willie B-produced cut. The XXL Freshman flexes his dexterous wordplay and wit over the gloomy beat.

Hopefully “Christopher DRONEr” will whet appetites until Ab-Soul and JMSN can hash out the label politics preventing their highly anticipated Unit 6 project from releasing.
