Why Stalley remains one of the game’s most unsung MCs is beyond us. Last night, the bearded lyricist delivered another quality track called “NineteenEighty7,” featuring ScHoolBoy Q.

This one sounds like a Blaxpoitation film on wax without a Rudy Ray Moore vocal sample. Rather, the Blue Collar Gang frontman kicks captivating wax poetics that paint a vivid picture of street life. The downside is that the TDE rapper’s role is limited to the gritty chorus. Come on Stalley; you have to give Q verse on this one.

The MMG affiliate’s potent rhymes pair well with the cinematic production by Terrace Martin.

“NineteenEighty7” will appear on Stalley’s forthcoming Honest Cowboy mixtape, due to arrive Thursday, August 9. Be sure to check for that tomorrow. Until then, hear the tune below.
